This is where the private garden is located and the place just keeps getting easier and easier. We began with the foundation bed in the front of the house. The Prairie garden has pathways winding through the garden it sits at 4100 sq ft. We sit in the Blackland Prairie and 92% of the plant pallet is native to the Blackland Prairie. The other 6% native to Texas and surrounding ecoregions, 2% North America. We use our AC condensation to water our rain garden, We also have a small bog garden. Many native species like prairie tea wood sorrel and day flower all have made their way back to the site once we converted. Each year it seems like we gain a new species thanks to birds.
Structured pathways to dry creeks for rainwater management.
